Fetal Development in the Second Trimester

When fetus reaches the age of 4 months, it can move and the hormones have already been active, making it adaptable to the situation in the womb. The development of the hands and feet are followed by the growth of nails and fine hair. This hair gets thicker when the fetus reaches the age of four months.

In the second trimester, the five senses such as eyes, nose, mouth, and ears begin to form. The weight of the fetus aged 4 months is up to 45 grams and will be increased to 160 grams after 4 months. At the age of 5 months, the placenta begins to form and the digestive organs start to form. The movements of the fetus will be felt at the age of 6 months and the fetus can change the position. To stimulate the growth of fetus in the womb at the age of 6 months, play some relaxing music.

Fetal Development in the Third Trimester

At the beginning of the third trimester, started by the seventh month, Mommy is able to conduct health checks for the preparation of child birth. In this period, the fetus is becoming more perfect since the fetal nerve system starts working. Fetal brain grows very quickly in this third semester.

The fetus in the womb has been able to open and close the eyes on this final trimester. Movements can also be felt and will be more active at night. At the end of this trimester, the fetus has really grown, marked by the completeness of the organ function or fetal weight gain. Entering the eighth month, the fetus’ lungs are already fully grown, the immune system works properly, and the weight reaches 2.3 kilograms.

Ideally, babies are born at the age of 9 months of pregnancy since they have reached considerable growth and have grown to the perfect physical condition.
